Literature Teacher and passion for clean agricultural products

After 5 years, from a small private establishment, Moc An has developed into Moc An Green Agriculture Development Limited Company with more than 50 workers

When you ask about Mrs. Hoang Thi Cam Nhung in Hien Si village, Phong Son commune, Phong Dien district, Thua Thien Hue province, everyone knows her. Starting as a literature teacher, but with a passion for business, Ms. Nhung has changed her career to become the owner of a renowned clean agricultural production facility in the region. The birth of the Moc An brand was a significant turning point in her life, enabling her to fulfill her dream of bringing high-quality products to consumers.

The idea originated from a summer afternoon on her way to teach. Ms. Nhung saw farmers harvesting lotus flowers. In the scorching heat of 42 degrees Celsius in Thua Thien Hue, she noticed how hard the farmers were working, but their products were only sold at the local market for low prices and fluctuated with the seasons but the traders did not consistently purchase their products. She pondered how she could support the farmers in purchasing their clean agricultural products, helping them escape poverty and sustain their livelihoods in their local area.

Without hesitation, Mrs. Nhung discussed with her husband. They both quit their professional jobs and start a new entrepreneurial model. She with her husband went to buy various types of agricultural seeds from farmers. Mrs. Nhung went house by house to encourage people to grow crops following clean processes, using organic fertilizer and avoiding pesticide use. More than anyone else, she understood that only when the products are guaranteed to be safe can sustainable development be achieve

Moc An cereal factory was born with over 20 workers. The main ingredients were local beans such as Hue lotus seeds, red beans, green beans, pure soybeans, black sesame seeds, and unpolished rice besides imported seeds such as oats, macadamia nuts, almonds, kabocha squash, and cashews …. The owner of Moc An is very strict in selecting raw materials. She said, "Our factory follows a careful process: careful selection, discarding of damaged or small seeds, then soaking, washing, drying, roasting, and blending in appropriate proportions. Finally, the mixture is ground and packaged." Soaking is particularly important because it helps the cereals maximize their effectiveness, improve digestion, and enhance nutrient absorption.

After 5 years, from a small private establishment, Moc An has developed into Moc An Green Agriculture Development Limited Liability Company with more than 50 employees. Moc An's products are diverse, nutritious, reputable, and widely consumed in the provinces of Central and South Central Vietnam.

Moc An's cereal products are diverse and cater to different customer segments.

To achieve this accomplishment, Ms. Cam Nhung has devoted a lot of effort and passion. In 2021, she is one of the outstanding female members and has delivered a speech at the Women's Congress of Thua Thien Hue province.

In June 2023, Mrs. Nhung and the Moc An cereal brand participated in the activity "Exchange and Connection to Introduce Exemplary Livelihood Models of Women" organized by the Women and Development Center in coordination with the Women's Union of Thua Thien Hue province. Sister Nhung shared at the event, "To achieve the accomplishments we have today, it took the dedication of my husband and me. I call Moc An our 'spiritual child' because we have nurtured and cared for it since its conception to the birth of the product and have raised it to grow strong like it is today."

Moc An's received the attention of leaders at all levels.

WHICH PLACE OF REFUGEE IS THE RIGHT ONE FOR YOU?

I often feel trapped, hunted by insomnia and nightmares. There are dreams, in which I scream desperately, asking my father not to hit my mother, only to wake up disturbed and to realize, it was nothing but a bad dream
